Local food production an important part of the re-localisation movement.
BEAM supports local producers of organic fruit, vegetables, meat, olives, wines, etc. through the
- Black Market: A monthly local informal food exchange and “open garden” in Seymour and surrounds.
- Local food: Available through farmers markets (now in Avenel, Tallarook and Lancefield), local market, as well as direct promotion of local producers with links on the website – all part of the “paddock to plate” idea.
- Bulk Food: In addition, we are looking at the purchase and distribution of bulk foods to reduce the cost and packaging of dry foods not produced locally.
