Nicole Foss 2014_2International speaker and writer Nicole Foss, who toured recently with David Holmgren, will come to Seymour on Thursday October the 2nd to explain why we are facing an era of financial crisis and rapid economic contraction and what we can do about it. She will address the implications of the global situation and the need for us to simplify our lives and focus on building resilience in our local communities.

Climate Change in young capable hands- Sian Kennedy in action making shopping bags from recycled cloth for next Saturday’s Seymour event.

BEAM Mitchell Environment group will be showing shoppers how easily sustainability is done outside Coles Seymour on Saturday 20th September, 9am-1pm.

As a part of the AVAAZ Global People’s Climate March and GetUp Global Day of Climate Action, BEAM members will be sewing industriously to make handmade shopping bags made from scrap material on sewing machines powered by solar energy – to show shoppers that they can take control and make a difference to their climate future, simply through their shopping choices. And better yet – the bags will be given out to shoppers FREE!
