The “permitted clearing regulations” have now been released and are intended to be the final versions, with the possible exception of the proposed amendments to the Victorian Planning Provisions. There will be no further public consultations. The Victorian National Parks Association is looking at working with the new laws to try to minimise their impact on the environment. We will work with other groups to look out for any further action on this matter at a State level, but will also try to encourage the local Council to negotiate better outcomes with developers.
