About the Event
Our surveys for the Greater Gliders continue
Join us for an evening of drone surveying and spotlighting in the northern section of the Mt Disappointment Forest. Meetup point will be advised when you RSVP.
We’re continuing our surveys in the Mt Disappointment Forest looking for the wonderful, nationally endangered, Southern Greater Glider. We are also finding Sugar Gliders, Koalas, Ringtail Possums, Common Brushtail Possums and Mountain Brushtail Possums.
Since 2020 we have been surveying for gliders in the Tallarook Forest. We’d love to be able to create a biolink between the Tallarook Forest and the Mt Disappointment Forest, to enable the Greater Gliders to expand southwards to Mt Disappointment forest area, where their numbers are depleted. Knowing where the Gliders are in the northern part of the Mt Disappointment Forest will help with planning the biolink corridor.
Please bring a torch, and a comfortable set of walking shoes. All welcome.
