About the Event
Our surveys for the Greater Gliders continue
Join us for an evening walk in the Tallarook forest, learning about glider habitat, and spotlighting for Gliders. Meetup point will be advised when you RSVP.
We’re continuing our surveys in the Tallarook Forest looking for the wonderful, nationally endangered, Southern Greater Glider. We are also finding Sugar Gliders, Koalas, Ringtail Possums, Common Brushtail Possums and Mountain Brushtail Possums.
Over 200 Greater Gliders have been found in the forest during our surveys during beginning in 2020, which makes Tallarook Forest one of the Greater Glider hotspots of Victoria. This helped to stop native forest logging in the Forest, and we achieved a Special Protection Zone for them from the state government.
We are now surveying in the 2,000 hectare western half of the Forest, to see how far their range extends. We’d love to be able to create a biolink between the Tallarook…
