  • 1 min read

Listen noon, Tuesday 13 January on Seymour FM or anytime as a podcast.

This week we will be chatting about the central role of bees and other pollinators in the health of our environment. We are dependent on them for a large percentage of our food supply.

On EarthChat, we will discuss the selection of bee-friendly plants for our gardens and how to choose plants that flower at different times of the year.  We will also look at the wide variety of other pollinators including our native bees.

We will discuss the dangers posed by the presence of varroa mites to honey bees, how to detect them and treat hives that are infected.

EarthChat on 103.9 FM at midday, Tuesday 13 January. Here is Seymour FM's website.
