About the Event
You're invited to join us for our next forest night walk
Saturday 15 Jan
6:30pm meet-up at Murchison Gap Lookout, on the Broadford-Flowerdale Rd
This time we will be looking for endangered Greater Gliders in the Mt Disappointment State Forest, in the southern part of Mitchell Shire. This forest has had logging conducted in recent years, and needs protection against further logging.
We’ll start by showing some of the logged areas, to see the impact of logging on Greater Glider habitat.
Then we’ll stop for a simple picnic dinner (BYO fresh or pre-cooked food).
After dusk we will spotlight for the Gliders in unlogged areas. Finding Gliders there will help prevent the logging.
Please bring a picnic dinner for yourself, mask, torch, and a comfortable set of walking shoes.
Please RSVP so that we are able to comply with current COVID-19 restrictions. Participants will need to be fully vaccinated.
We will be meeting at 6.30pm at the Murchison Gap Lookout, on the Broadford-Flowerdale Rd. From there we will drive together to the Forest.
See you there!
