EARTHCHAT: Biolink corridors for gliders in Seymour

Updated: Jul 5, 2023

On EarthChat this week Vanessa will present how Seymour residents have new opportunities to volunteer for the environment, thanks to the project Biolink Corridors for Gliders, funded by the Victorian Government, through the Environmental Volunteering New Growth Project.

Between now and November 2023 there will be many activities on offer, all about gliders. This will include partnership with the BEAM Mitchell Environment Group and the Central Victorian Biolinks Alliance to deliver these activities. In August there will be spotlight walks, where we will be looking for gliders and other nocturnal animals. Then in spring we will inspect fifty nest boxes that had been installed about eight years ago on Lambing Gully Road to create a wildlife corridor.

Vanessa Malandrin is the Project Coordinator for Landcare at Hughes Creek Catchment Collaborative (HCCC).

Tune in to BEAM's radio program EarthChat each Friday on Seymour FM at 10am, repeated at 8am Saturday, and return to this page for a link to the podcast after the program.
