This week Marie will be chatting with Elly Torres who was selected to be a Rotary Peace scholar and is currently working towards Environmental Peacebuilding.
They will be talking about the contrasting implications for our environment between continuing with the arms race, fighting wars and the alternative path to peace.
They will look at what is meant by Environmental Peacebuilding, the connection between environmental degradation, resource degradation and scarcity - leading to conflict.
They will look at the environmental damage caused by war, the enormous cost of the arms trade and the improvement in the planet's outlook that would be possible if we choose peace instead.
